There's been some discussion on the Internet about Resident Evil 5's controls.  At first, console shooter fans might feel the controls are clunky or awkward since that they are different from Gears of War and its many clones.  To be fair, RE5's controls are artificially limiting.  No reasonable person would expect a highly trained soldier to not be able to take a step forward and stab with a knife at the same time.  However, if RE5 controlled just like Gears of War, it'd just be another Gears clone and I am completely sick of those games.

I picked up Street Fighter IV last weekend and have since been playing it as my go-to game.

The game is fun in a hardcore old-school way.  Even playing on "Easy" the last boss, Seth, is punishingly difficult.  Seth has a full screen Ultra Combo, meaning his most powerful move hits unless my character is behind him.  Casual observers will probably remember the internet hoopla about how the game can be beaten on the "Easiest" setting by holding forward and Hard Kick.  While that is probably true, Easiest is three difficulty levels below the default (there's Medium, Easy, Very Easy, and Easiest).  There's no reason to complain about or even mention the easiness of  Easiest.  It's insane to think that playing a game on a difficulty level below Very Easy would be challenging.

I was dissappointed to I read that Valkyria Chronicles only sold 33,000 copies in the US its opening week, because I have an attachment to the game.  I've always enjoyed the strategy RPG genre and since Valkyria is exclusive to PS3 it gives me an excuse to dust off my beloved shiny black console.
